I started my weight loss journey about a month ago and I have decided to keep track of my journey publicly. I have tried various weight loss plans over the years and have dieted like a yo-yo bouncing from one plan to another with no success. This time I am hoping for a change and so far things are looking good.
I have started on the Nutrisystems plan and will log my weight and measurements weekly along with pictures monthly. I am also training to run in a half marathon in November so I have began a daily exercise schedule. Not easy, but I know it will be worth it.
Here is a picture of me when I started the program a month ago. I am 37 years old, 5 feet tall, and my beginning weight was 236lbs.
A week ago I weighed myself again. I am currently 226lbs and here are my measurements:
Upper Arm: 17.5 in.
Chest: 45.5 in.
Waist: 44.0 in.
Hips: 53.0 in.
Thighs: 32.0 in.
That is hard to say out loud and even harder to look at, but I intend to change these measurements. SIGNIFICANTLY!!
My goal is to be at 120lbs in one year.
I have been exercising for three weeks. I have gone from basically doing nothing to walk/running and weight lifting 4 days a week and doing some type of cardio for 45 minutes 2 days a week. My first week I was doing a 16 minute mile. Week two I was at a 15.5 minute mile.
This has been the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. I have gone from drinking 2-3 32oz. sodas a day to 1 32oz. soda 2-3 times a week. I want to get rid of soda all together, but it's a work in progress. I'm getting there.
This week I did 2 miles alternating 1 minute running and two minutes brisk walking, but I'm not sure what my pace was. Tuesday we got rained out, but I did do a 3 mile brisk walk at the mall so that's something. Today I was supposed to do a 45 minute cardio in the morning, but It's dance camp week and I had to be on the road by 8am so not cardio today.
I should have done something this afternoon, but I wimped out. I also have not been to the gym all week for weight lifting, but I am going tomorrow morning. I am hoping that by being accountable to this blog, I will not wimp out on my schedule and won't cheat on what I should be eating. I want to reach my goals more than anything!
